Bio:
I am 32 years old, and live in Gilbert South Carolina with my loving wife
DeDe Ward and my beautiful little girl Chloe. I am a boat salesman for a
prominant dealership in Columbia South Carolina. I started fishing very young
with my father, and grandparents. I was raised in the lower state of SC, and
fished the Edisto river for bass and redbreast. I owe a great deal, for my
casting ability, to the river for it will make you work to get the bait in very
tight places. I started fishing ponds as I became older, and started fishing the
local Festival of Roses tournament. The spirit of competition ran over me, and I
then started fishing local open tournaments on Santee-Cooper with different
friends. I entered Newberry College on a football scholarship, and became good
friends with the quarterback. He and I shared the same love for fishing, and
used to go to Billy Dreher Island, on lake Murray, and wade the banks in search
of bass. I finally obtained and old bass boat my sophomore year, and rest is
history. I fished more and more tournaments locally until I felt like I could
compete in a trail. I am a member of a local bass club, which also helps me
learn more each day I get to be on the water. My dream is to be able to fish one
of the major tournament trails, and become well known for my fishing
accomplishments. For now I will support my family by selling boats, but I will
always have the same dream.
Rod Ward.
